Staying safe
Most Tradehub sales end with a meet-up: on campus, at a mall, at the seller's gate. These habits keep them safe.
- Meet somewhere public and busy, in daylight: a campus café, a mall, the library.
- Check the item works before you pay.
- Pay through Tradehub when you can. Buyer protection only covers orders paid here.
- Keep the conversation in Tradehub chat. Be wary of anyone who wants to move to WhatsApp or be paid outside the app.
- Never share a sign-in code or PIN. Tradehub staff will never ask for one.
- Take a friend along for expensive items.
Paying in cash
Cash on collection is allowed, but Tradehub never holds the money, so it can't protect it. Count it in front of the seller and only hand it over once you have the item and it works. For buyer protection, pay through Tradehub instead: how buyer protection works.
If something feels wrong
Walk away. No item is worth it. Then tell us: report the listing from its page, or the message from the chat. If you paid through Tradehub and the item isn't what was promised, open a dispute from the order before you confirm receipt. The money stays frozen while we look into it.
If you are in danger
